Description: The School of Athens is a fresco by Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, executed between 1509 and 1511. It is part of a series of paintings in the Stanze di Raffaello, in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. The fresco depicts a gathering of ancient Greek philosophers and scholars in a large hall, with Plato and Aristotle at the center.
